Congratulations on taking the first step in your journey to heal from struggles related to anxiety, depression, life transitions, or relationship issues. As a clinical mental health counselor for young adults and adults of diverse backgrounds, I’m here to help you navigate the complexity of the human experience, as well as build resilience and strengthen confidence in your ability to handle day-to-day life.
I believe laughter is a good medicine, and while healing is something to be taken seriously, laughter can make the hard parts easier. That’s why my approach is direct and rooted in reality, yet humorous. I'm passionate about my role as a witness to my patients’ journeys to wellness, and look forward to joining your journey and supporting your healing in our work together.
I believe each person knows themself better than anyone else, and thus already possesses the knowledge and strength needed to make the changes they desire. This belief helps me in my role as a collaborator in your therapeutic journey: someone to witness the good, bad, and ugly, and provide support through all of them.
In our time together, you can expect a warm, friendly, and supportive environment, one that is tailored to you and comes with therapeutic homework so you can practice the things you want to improve on outside the therapy room. My style is direct and change-oriented, using an integrative approach relying mostly on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you explore how your environments, personality, community, and the interactions with them influence thoughts, feelings, and behavior.
My path to becoming a therapist began when life did what it usually does, and I found myself at a crossroads deciding between a new dream and an old dream. This struggle led me to back to that old dream, one dedicated to helping people, and my commitment to doing this as a therapist.
In my practice, I consider it an honor to bear witness to the struggles and breakthroughs of my patients, and be able to support them throughout these experiences. I bring intention, care, and respect, along with a healthy dose of pop culture knowledge, to each session as we achieve healing goals together.
I enjoy a wide variety of interests when I’m not in the office. If I’m not reading, coloring/painting, or watching true crime documentaries, then I’m out and about, discovering new coffee shops and hunting for my next sweet treat!
