With more than 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist, I help everyday people, including children and adults, navigate trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, and anger. Beyond these specialties, I also work with a range of other disorders to best meet your needs. In our work together, I bring compassion, honesty, trust, partnership, and a belief in your own capacity for self-efficacy.
Genuineness, empathy, and unconditional positive regard guide how I show up for you, creating a supportive space where we can do this work together. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and schema therapy to help you feel heard, better understand your own thoughts and emotions, and build new coping skills.
I've always been empathetic, and fell in love with psychology during my freshman year of college. Growing up in Brooklyn, I saw many people who seemed to make the same dangerous mistakes, leading to drugs, violence, jail, or death. Those questions have stayed with me ever since: how did they get there? Why did they make those decisions? I bring that same investigative curiosity to my work with you today.
I love singing and listening to music. I'm also a sports fan, and there's always a book close by for reading.
