For 20 years, I've helped children, adolescents, and adults navigate traumatic experiences, grief and loss, and other life stressors as a social worker. I believe in individuals' strengths and compassion, and this belief is at the heart of how I show up for you, helping me be a champion for you in your journey. I look forward to helping you find your strengths and discover solutions to your difficulties as we work together.
While my background includes a variety of mental health conditions, my primary passion is helping people get back on their feet after a traumatic event or loss. My approach is kind, collaborative, and gentle, grounded in a firm belief in your strengths. Making space for your difficulties and losses matters just as much to me as helping you uncover the personal strengths you need to reach your goals.
Together, we'll create a supportive and comfortable environment. Facilitating open communication is central to my style, helping us alleviate pain and renew a sense of hope. I use patient-centered and cognitive-behavioral techniques, along with play-based techniques where appropriate, tailoring my approach to your strengths and needs to help you uncover your resources and process your hardships.
My path to becoming a therapist began by seeing the impact of traumatic events on the choices of those close to me. These experiences deepened my commitment to providing meaningful care to alleviate the roots of suffering. To each session now, I strive to bring compassion, sensitivity, a sense of hope, and sometimes humor where appropriate.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature, bringing friends together, knitting, and finding all the great coffee shops Baltimore has to offer.
