I am a therapist specializing in holistic, trauma-informed therapy for adults and adolescents, couples, and families. Across my practice, I work with people of all backgrounds, with a particular focus on Black and Brown patients, creative artists, community organizers, and activists. My specialties include treating ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, complex trauma, and PTSD, as well as supporting survivors of violence, abuse, and poverty.
This expertise is grounded in who I am: a Black queer therapist who believes in addressing systemic oppressions such as poverty, transphobia, and racism. Providing a warm and safe space for vulnerability is central to how I work, and I look forward to beginning the healing process with you. Together, we can find more places to be curious, reflective, and joyful.
Supporting my community matters deeply to me, especially those who are least likely to have access to adequate mental health services and those who are most likely to be pathologized, misunderstood, and otherwise marginalized. My work with you, therefore, is always patient-centered, trauma-informed, and relational.
Depending on your individual needs, I draw on approaches such as trauma-based cognitive processing therapy, motivational interviewing, and somatic modalities. As a published author, I also often incorporate creative modalities into my therapeutic practice, such as creative writing activities, drawing, and kinetic sand. Let's work together to figure out which methods work best for you.
I first became passionate about this path while working with young people impacted by gun and systems violence. This experience affirmed my belief that, as therapists, we should address systemic trauma rather than rely solely on symptoms — and that conviction is what I bring into the room, along with warmth and authenticity, in every session.
When I'm not working, I love writing and salsa dancing!
