SOL Brand - Coming out of the fog, into light

July 28, 2025 · By Lindsay Arnold Sugden, CEO of SOL Mental Health

Nearly 60 million Americans are living with a mental health disorder, yet for most of them, finding consistent, high-quality care remains frustratingly difficult. Care is fragmented. Waitlists are long. Costs are high. And the path from struggling to feeling supported is rarely clear.

That's the gap SOL Mental Health was built to close.

Today, we're excited to share a refreshed brand identity that reflects where we've been, what we've learned, and where we're headed, as a partner in mental health care for individuals, families, and communities.

Why Accessible Mental Health Care Still Falls Short

The United States faces a mental health crisis that goes beyond awareness. Even when people recognize they need help, whether for anxiety, depression, ADHD, or relationship challenges, the path to care is often unclear, fragmented, or simply out of reach.

Common barriers include:

  • Long wait times for first appointments with psychiatrists or therapists
  • Insurance confusion around what's covered and what's not
  • Lack of coordination between a patient's therapist, psychiatric clinician, and primary care doctor
  • Limited options for in-person visits close to home, especially outside major cities

SOL Mental Health was founded in 2020 with a direct response to these challenges: build a network of local care centers staffed by collaborative, multidisciplinary teams, and make them as easy to access as possible.

What Our New Brand Represents

Our refreshed brand, developed in collaboration with Uncommon Bold, isn't just a visual update. It's a statement of intent.

It reflects four commitments we make to every patient and provider we work with:

1. A steady, reliable local presence. Mental health care works best when it's rooted in the community. Whether you're looking for a therapist in Colorado, a psychiatric clinician in Virginia, or virtual mental health care from anywhere, SOL is here, consistently, and close to you.

2. A broad spectrum of services under one roof. From individual therapy and psychiatry to couples therapy and child and adolescent mental health, our clinicians cover the full range of care.

3. Simpler access for patients, better tools for clinicians. We believe the administrative burden of finding and receiving care should never stand between a person and their well-being. Our team works continuously to make booking, insurance navigation, and care coordination as seamless as possible.

4. Clinical rigor and collaborative care. Evidence-based treatment isn't optional. It's the foundation of everything we do. Our clinicians collaborate closely with each patient's broader care team, including primary care providers, to deliver outcomes that last.

Where SOL Mental Health Is Today

Since opening our first care center in 2020, SOL Mental Health has grown into a network of hundreds of therapists and psychiatric clinicians serving patients across:

Every location offers both in-person visits and virtual appointments, so patients can choose the format that works best for them without sacrificing the quality or continuity of their care.

What's Coming Next

This brand refresh is the beginning of a broader conversation we want to have with our communities, our clinicians, and our partners.

In the months ahead, we'll be sharing:

  • Research and insights on the value of localized mental health care
  • Evidence for why in-person and virtual care both matter, and when each is most effective
  • Perspectives on collaborative care models and how they improve patient outcomes
  • Our vision for how mental health care must continue to evolve

We believe that better mental health care is possible, not just in theory, but in practice, in your neighborhood, for your family.
