Maybe you’ve spent years masking, trying to meet others’ expectations, or feeling like you don’t quite fit in. Maybe you’re working through life transitions, or you’re tired of diet culture and want a different relationship with food and your body. You may want to understand yourself better, manage big emotions, or feel more comfortable being your authentic self. Whatever brings you to therapy, I hope to help you feel empowered to make changes, practice self-acceptance, and build a life that aligns with who you are and what matters to you.
I enjoy helping people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I work with adults of all backgrounds, with a particular focus on those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, emotion regulation, LGBTQIA+ concerns, neurodivergence, and eating- and body-related concerns.
I believe therapy should help you trust your own answers. Whether that means making a difficult change, learning to accept yourself, or figuring out what you want your life to look like, we’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to focus on or have everything figured out before starting. If you’re looking for a space where you can be yourself, explore what’s getting in your way, and discover new ways forward, I’d be happy to work with you.
Here, you can expect a warm, casual, and nonjudgmental environment where you be your true self. My style is empathetic and flexible, grounded in authenticity, acceptance, and collaboration. Because I believe you’re the expert on your own life, I’ll bring curiosity, clinical knowledge, and a fresh perspective as we figure things out together.
Behind all of this is the idea that people do the best they can with the circumstances, experiences, and resources available to them, even when their current ways of coping aren’t working anymore. From there, rather than trying to “fix” you, I want to help you understand yourself with compassion, explore new possibilities, and decide what you want to change and what you want to embrace.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to find what works best for you. A clinical background in eating disorders and higher levels of care informs that care, and I’m particularly passionate about LGBTQIA+-affirming, weight-inclusive, and neurodiversity-affirming care. Sessions are tailored to your needs and goals, often using metaphor, creativity, and humor to explore difficult things in new ways. We can make space for the hard stuff without taking ourselves too seriously all the time.
As a queer and fat therapist, I bring a commitment to affirming, weight-inclusive, and anti-oppressive care. Creating a haven where you don’t have to explain or defend who you are matters to me. My clinical experience in higher levels of care, along with my Master’s degree in Social Work, has shaped my understanding of the many ways people learn to navigate difficult circumstances. I approach each person with curiosity and compassion, recognizing that our behaviors make sense within the context of our experiences.
Outside of the office, I enjoy drawing in the park, cooking, crafting, biking around town, and reading. Occasionally, I take my black cat, Mendle, on a walk too!
