Are you navigating emotional overwhelm, wrestling with questions of identity, purpose, or belonging, caught in conflict within yourself or with the people close to you, or moving through a difficult transition and patterns that no longer serve you? As a relationally oriented therapist with a background in education and writing, I’m here to help. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, specializing in anxiety, depression, attachment and relationship issues, self-esteem, identity exploration, family and life conflicts, emotional dysregulation, trauma, creative pursuits, and neurodivergence.
Learning my patients' stories and accompanying them through this challenging, rewarding work is something I feel deeply privileged to do. If you're looking for a safe space to explore and process your unique experience, to develop self-compassion and curiosity, and to feel more grounded, hopeful, and authentically connected in your life, please reach out today. I look forward to helping you feel more empowered, connected, steady, and purposeful in your life, and am grateful for your courage and trust.
I believe that healing happens in relationship: with yourself, and with empathic others who recognize your strengths and your capacity for growth and change. That belief shapes a holistic, person-centered, and anti-oppressive approach, integrating psychodynamic theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma theory, along with play therapy for younger patients.
My style is warm, open, and direct, and I bring humor, patience, and genuine curiosity into the room. Within our sessions, I use psychodynamic exploration and Internal Family Systems to help you understand the different, sometimes conflicting parts of yourself and your relationships. For more concrete skills and tools that support emotional regulation, functioning, and symptom relief, I turn to behavioral, evidence-based approaches such as CBT and DBT. Above all, it is important that I tailor my approach to your unique stories, goals, history, identity, and culture.
Before I became a therapist, I earned an MFA in poetry and worked as a high school English teacher at a school for students with language-based learning disabilities. I have deep admiration and respect for people of all ages struggling to articulate themselves and make joyful meaning of their lives. That professional path, along with my own experience as a patient, has deepened my commitment to care that is authentic, collaborative, empowering, and culturally attuned.
I am a lifelong New Yorker! I love reading, writing, reality TV, all things history and culture, and quality time with loved ones and the cat.
