You may know that something needs to change but feel unsure of where to start, or find yourself struggling to put what you know into practice. Therapy can be a space to better understand what’s keeping you stuck, build practical skills, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable for you.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, addictive behaviors and patterns, self-esteem challenges, relationship challenges, emotional regulation, and life transitions for older adolescents and adults of all ages. Together, we can work through self-doubt, grief, life transitions, and the patterns that leave you feeling stuck and no longer serving you.
Therapy works best when it’s a collaborative process built on trust, curiosity, and genuine understanding. You know yourself and your experiences better than anyone, and my role is not to tell you who you should be, but to help you better understand where you are, identify where you want to go, and develop the tools to help you get there. There may be times when you're ready to challenge yourself and try something new, and other times when you simply need space to slow down and be understood. Both are valid parts of the process. I hope to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel supported, respected, and empowered to move toward the life you want, one step at a time.
Trust, curiosity, and accountability are at the center of how I work with you. I draw on evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), alongside person-centered and humanistic principles, to understand you as a whole person.
I believe therapy should provide you with practical skills and tools that you can use in your everyday life, while also recognizing that there are times when simply getting through the day takes priority. The goal is to create a balanced space where we can work toward change and growth, while also meeting you with compassion and understanding when you're not ready, or don't have the capacity, to take on something new.
You can count on a space that is warm, open, collaborative, and free of judgment. Using these tools, I help you better understand yourself, process difficult experiences, develop practical skills, and navigate challenges in a way that aligns with your goals and values. You are the expert on your own story; my role is to bring knowledge, perspective, curiosity, and tools that can help you approach that story in new ways. Together, we can identify what is working, what isn't, and what changes may help you move forward. I tailor our work to your unique needs, circumstances, and readiness for change.
My journey to becoming a therapist began with working as a counselor for adolescents in an acute setting, where I supported young people navigating significant mental health challenges. Later, I worked as a clinician with veterans of all ages and from many different walks of life, supporting individuals with substance use concerns and co-occurring mental health conditions within the VA Health Care System and in a transitional residence for unhoused veterans.
These experiences deepened my commitment to helping people create the change they want in their lives, while recognizing that change does not happen in a straight line. They taught me the importance of meeting patients where they are on any given day, and approaching their experiences with humility, kindness, and understanding. I continue to bring those values into my work with every patient.
When I have free time, I love listening to a true crime or history podcast, running or training for my next road race, baking, or planning my next travel destination.
