I believe every person is the expert of their own life and am here to help you navigate the challenges preventing you from living that life to the fullest. As a licensed professional counselor with four years of clinical experience, I work with teens and adults in overcoming struggles with life transitions, such as
adjusting to college and the work world, as well as cope with depression, anxiety and loneliness, anger management, and grief and loss. I look forward to providing a collaborative and empowering environment for growth and change in our work together.
Using an affirming, individualized, and collaborative approach anchored in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and motivational interviewing, I create a compassionate, safe, and evidence-based space to work toward meaningful change. My style is warm but direct, and tailored to your needs, situation, and goals to help you learn ways to identify anxiety triggers and learn coping skills.
Before becoming a licensed professional counselor, I was a news features writer for weekly publications. Interviewing people from different backgrounds, each with a story to tell, helped to develop my listening skills. Similarly, working as a contact tracer during the COVID-19 pandemic offered an experience that deepened my empathy and commitment to helping others. I incorporate these unique perspectives into my practice now, ensuring openness and authenticity in every session, which helps me be an effective and supportive collaborator at all times.
When I’m not in session, I’m most often enjoying my hobbies and passions, including knitting, cats, and reading, especially mysteries and psychological thrillers.
