Here to Help You Heal

Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your child, therapy can provide an opportunity to slow down, better understand what's happening, and work toward meaningful change. I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, trauma, substance use, self-esteem concerns, and difficulty managing emotions. For younger patients, I also support those navigating changes at home, school, or in their relationships with peers and family.

Many of my patients are looking for a safe space to feel understood, develop healthier coping skills, and gain confidence in navigating life's challenges. I believe effective therapy begins with trust, respect, and genuine connection. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but you don't have to have everything figured out before taking that first step. My goal is to be a supportive and collaborative partner as you or your child navigate challenges, develop new skills, and build a stronger understanding of yourselves. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for something to change, I would be honored to help you begin that process.

My Approach to Care

My work is integrative, collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic and attachment-based approaches, humanistic and person-centered therapy, narrative therapy, and more. Because I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, I tailor treatment to your developmental stage, experiences, strengths, and goals to help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may be holding you back, and develop the insight and practical skills needed to create meaningful change.

In our sessions, you can expect a warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself, with a collaborative, curious, and person-centered style that treats the therapeutic relationship as an integral part of the healing process. Together, we may explore how past experiences and relationships have shaped you, identify patterns in your thoughts and behaviors, develop practical coping skills, or find new ways of understanding your story. With children and adolescents, I use developmentally appropriate approaches to help them feel heard, build emotional awareness, and develop confidence and coping skills.

A Journey into Exceptional Patient Care

My path to becoming a therapist grew from my personal journey as a patient navigating overwhelming emotions, family dynamics, life transitions, and self-doubt, while my experience in healthcare and health education showed me how deeply emotional well-being, relationships, and access to support can shape a person's life. I was drawn to counseling because I wanted to support people not only in navigating challenges, but also in understanding themselves, recognizing their strengths, and realizing their full potential.

These experiences strengthened my belief in the importance of meeting each person with empathy, curiosity, and respect. I bring that perspective into each session and strive to create a space where patients of all ages feel heard, valued, and supported.

Personal Interests

Outside of therapy, I enjoy exploring Washington, DC, traveling, connecting with animals and nature, spending time with family and friends, and staying active through yoga, walking, and workout classes. I also love hosting dinners and gatherings, seeing live music, and engaging in creative outlets such as scrapbooking and collaging.
