As a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist for adults and older adults, I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, relationship challenges, and the obstacles that can come with major life transitions. This includes helping people reduce distorted thinking, manage distressing symptoms, improve motivation, increase assertiveness and confidence, strengthen self-image, and build healthier relational patterns.
Mental health care should be accessible and free from stigma, and I am deeply committed to both. Whether you identify as neurodivergent, are navigating a mental health diagnosis, or are simply exploring what support might look like for you, you deserve compassionate, quality care. It would be my privilege to be a dedicated and passionate partner in your growth. Together, we can work toward the growth, success, and inspiration that are possible when you invest in yourself.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is at the core of my practice, and I also draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Behavioral Activation. My approach is eclectic and creative, and most importantly, it's led by you.
At all times, you can expect a supportive, affirming environment where your unique needs guide our work. Using mindfulness techniques and gradual exposure therapy, I'll help you build the skills to self-regulate under stress. My style is gentle and trauma-informed, designed to create a safe and calming space where you feel comfortable being honest and open. No two people are the same, and the care you receive will reflect that.
My path to becoming a therapist began with a deep interest in helping others. Starting out in education, I realized that mental health was a fundamental issue impacting learning, and that I wanted to support others on a deeper level than teaching and instruction alone could offer. Volunteering as a mentor at a middle school in Texas, I saw firsthand the immense need for mental health support. Subsequent world events only reinforced how significant that need truly is. These experiences deepened my commitment to providing evidence-based, quality mental health care, with curiosity, compassion, and creativity.
Music and dance are true passions of mine. Singing in choirs and a cappella groups, and learning various instruments, have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I love spending time learning new songs, taking dance classes, or rolling through the neighborhood on my skates to recharge and find joy.
