Here to Help You Heal

With seven years of experience as an integrative therapist, I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, with a particular focus on child and family therapy and trauma-informed care. Empathy and understanding shape how I approach each patient, as I believe in the power of compassion to be a nonjudgmental partner in your therapeutic journey.

If you’re ready, I welcome you to reach out so we can start your healing together. Together, we can explore your concerns and work toward emotional wellness in a safe, supportive environment. I look forward to helping you recognize your strength and resilience.

My Approach to Care

I believe healing begins when people feel safe, heard, and understood. With this compassion and support, individuals can build resilience, strength, and meaningful change at their own pace. I’m especially passionate about helping individuals and families recognize their strengths, build confidence, and develop the tools to support emotional growth and well-being.

Working with me means an integrative, collaborative experience centered on you, in a safe, supportive space where you are accepted without judgment. Your unique experiences, needs, and goals come first, and I will work alongside you to identify techniques that feel right for you. You show me where you are in your path, and together we will navigate difficult experiences and build coping skills that help you manage day-to-day challenges.

A Journey into Exceptional Patient Care

My path to becoming a therapist grew from a genuine desire to help others feel heard, supported, and understood. Throughout my professional career, I have developed a deep appreciation for people’s resilience and hope, and for the importance of having a safe place to explore past experiences. These values continue to guide my work as I strive to meet each person with compassion, understanding, and respect for their unique journey.

I moved to Maryland from Upstate New York in 1998. Syracuse University is where I earned my Master of Social Work, with a concentration in child and family therapy, and at the University at Buffalo I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Along with these degrees, I hold certifications in Life Coaching and Intimate Partner Violence Advocacy through the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence.

Personal Interests

Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy volunteering through my church and look forward to participating in a medical mission trip to Kenya next year! (hint: I worked in the operating room for 12 years!) On Sundays, you can usually find me watching football, spending time with my adult kiddos, or enjoying the company of my five-pound fur baby. I also enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes – as long as nobody expects me to bake or measure anything!
