My name is Matthew (he/him), and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) specializing in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I work with concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, and life transitions, approaching your identities—such as race, gender, sexuality, and class—with care and thoughtful attention to the meaning these have in your life.
At all times, I am dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming space and building a therapeutic relationship in which you are supported in expressing and understanding yourself. I look forward to empowering you to heal through warmth, compassion, curiosity, and genuine acceptance.
I believe that the relationship we build in therapy can be deeply healing. Together, we explore your thoughts, feelings, and relational patterns with the aim of deepening awareness, working through unresolved experiences, and expanding your capacity for change. Throughout this work you learn to look at how past experiences and unconscious patterns shape your present life, relationships, and sense of self.
For adults, this is achieved through collaborative work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic therapy. When working with children, I incorporate play therapy to support their emotional expression, development, and connection.
